Adzie Cafe and Bakery in Alamesra serves a wide selection of seafood dishes and a unique dining experience known as ‘Mangan Mangan Daun Pisang’ - which means dining on banana leaves.
The restaurant brings diners delicious seafood offerings and keeps it simple by giving guests a choice of Set Menus according to the size of the dining party. The Family Fiesta is the biggest set, ideal for 9 to 12 diners. The menu includes butter prawns, kam heong-style crabs, deep fried mackerel, squid and hinava (a Kadazan-Dusun salad-like dish made of raw fish which slowly ‘cooks’ in the acidity of lime juice, chillies and other ingredients). The cafe gets its fresh seafood supply from Sandakan. Want more? Add on vegetables and other desired seafood dishes, including tiger prawns, lobsters and shellfish. All sets come with complimentary ice lemon tea. The best part is donning your plastic aprons and finally digging into the meal served on banana leaves with your bare hands! No worries - cutlery is provided on demand.
Apart from the ‘Mangan-Mangan Daun Pisang’ seafood menu, their ala-carte dining menu from 7:00am to 6:00pm offers a variety of must-try signature dishes namely Bangus with Garlic Rice (Milkfish with Garlic Rice), Nasi Goreng Adzie Special, Chicken Chop, Pisang Cheese, homemade cakes and a Filipino dessert – Halo Halo. The café fits up to 70 diners as a time - reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment.
