Sabah Tourism Continues To Represent In PATA
KOTA KINABALU, 29 April 2021: Sabah Tourism Board will continue representation on the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Board for another two-year term from 2021 until 2023.
Ms Noredah Othman, the General Manager of Sabah Tourism Board is the newly elected Executive Board member of PATA. The other candidate that was also a newly elected Executive Board member is Dr Abdulla Mausoom from the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives.
In 2019, Othman was appointed as PATA Board member and received the instrument of appointment at the PATA Board meeting that was held in Kazakhstan in September of the same year for the 2019-2021 terms. She comes with almost 30 years of experience in the tourism industry.
This acknowledgement indirectly shows the significance of Sabah as an established tourism destination in the region and how it can contribute to the development of the travel and tourism industry in the Asia Pacific region.
Founded in 1951, PATA is a not-for-profit association that is internationally acclaimed for acting as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region.
One of the functions of the PATA Board is to determine high-level external and industry policies and positions of PATA, and to provide guidance accordingly to the PATA Executive Board on such issues.
