Situated within the picturesque campus of one of Sabah’s most renowned universities, just a short 20 km drive from the airport is a place where visitors are able to enjoy looking at marine life and also learn about them. The beachfront aquarium and museum is divided into three main sections:
The Deep Dive Diorama, where upon entry, visitors are greeted with an oceanic scene, that will transport you to the depths of the sea. Here you are able to marvel at the intricately crafted display of dark deep-sea caves and shipwrecks, offering a visual sensation beneath the waves amidst rich marine biodiversity
You’re able to delve into the fascinating world of marine research and education at the Marine Museum and Research Showcase. Visitors can learn about the diverse ecosystems of Borneo and discover the vital role they play in our planet’s health and sustainability. Not to worry, you’ll also be able to immerse yourself in the Marine Aquarium, where you can observe a mesmerising array of marine life in a tranquil environment.
Here, learning about marine life is not just informative – it’s interactive and inspiring. Through hands-ons exhibits and immersive displays, visitors gain a deeper appreciation for the wonders of the underwater world and the importance of protecting the ocean for future generations.
