Situated around 90 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu, this memorial was first guarded by the Tambunan District Office before it was handed over to the Sabah State Museum. An archaeological excavation done in that area shows a prehistoric activities through discoveries of artifacts.
The Mat Salleh Memorial showcase a history of Datu Paduka Mat Salleh and a mini museum. It is open for public viewing with free admission from 9am to 5pm daily.
